Austin parks are plentiful and have something for everyone!

It’s been said Austin is a park with a city in it. We’ve got tons of amazing parks, find your favorite from this list of the best Austin parks!

The crown jewel of Austin parks, Zilker Park is right in the middle of the city. Barton Springs is here, as is the great lawn where the ACL Music Festival happens. There’s also disc golf and miles of trails for biking, walking and running. There’s even free theatrical performances each summer at the Zilker Hillside Theater.

Mueller Lake Park

This park is smack-dab in the middle of the Mueller development. There’s a lake, miles of running, biking and walking trails, plus several playgrounds. You can also choose tasty bites from food trailers or buy your produce at the twice weekly farmer’s market.

Mayfield Park and Nature Preserve

The Peacocks at this west Austin park are a major draw, but keep your distance, they can be mean! There are also ponds, lots of beautiful flora and fauna, and the Laguna Gloria Art Museum next door!

Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park

I couldn't stay away. The park was even nicer today.

This park in Northeast Austin is one of the best Austin parks for bike riders. That’s because there are over 12 miles of trails ready to be explored! There’s also a leash-free dog park, perfect for playing fetch with your four-legged friend!

Emma Long Metropolitan Park

Swim, grill, camp and more at this park on the shores of Lake Travis! You’ll feel like you’re on vacation, but Emma Long is just 13 miles from downtown Austin.
