Plans are afoot to build a huge new development on East Riverside at Pleasant Valley some are referring to as a second Domain, Austin Towers reports.
Called Project Catalyst, the project will cover 97 acres, about 1/3rd the size of the Domain. There are several tracts involved, with the biggest currently occupied by the Ballpark Apartments. Those apartments will be demolished to make way for the new development.
The site can have buildings with heights up to 10 stories, much higher than anything else in the area. A Traffic Impact Analysis filed with the city by the developer said Project Catalyst will include 4,709 apartment units, 600 hotel rooms, 3,987,300 square feet of office space, 436,250 square feet of general retail space, and 60,000 square feet of medical/dental space.
The project is practically next door to the new Oracle Campus on Lakeshore Drive.
