Both the weekend before Halloween and October 31st itself should be full of revelers. Sixth Street on Halloween is something everyone should experience at least once in their life! Half Step

This Rainey Street bar knows its cocktails and is throwing an 80’s themed Halloween party complete with a costume contest and 80’s cover band Montage! Looking for an easy costume to don for Half Step’s party? Try a white button-down and sunglasses and leave the pants at home ala Tom Cruise in Risky Business!

At Lala’s it’s Christmas year-round, with the bar decorated for Santa to enter at any moment 365 days a year! Oakwood Cemetery

Join the 12th Annual Murder, Mayhem and Misadventure Walking Tour at the historic Oakwood Cemetery. Hear tales of the macabre ways some Austinites met their untimely deaths as portrayed by actors at their grave sites. The tour takes 45 minutes and focuses on the historical details rather than serving purely to scare, but who doesn’t get the shivers at a cemetery?

House of Torment

Looking for a good old-fashioned haunted house full of jump scares, terrifying creatures, and probably a guy with a chainsaw? Blanton Museum of Art

Keep the Halloween fun in Austin going with this screening of three classic scary silent films presented by Silent Films Out Loud at the Blanton. 1910’s Frankenstein, 1928’s The Fall of the House of Usher, and the Buster Keaton short Haunted House will all be screened, with new scores by Austin-based composers Jackie Myers, Bob Hoffnar, Dave Biller, and Jean Hasse. Catching a silent film with a live score is pure magic; we highly recommend this super cool experience!
